Dental implants

As a consequence of tooth loss the jawbone degenerates if the missing tooth root is not replaced with an implant. Evident bone degeneration, in addition, leads also to a negative change of the facial features. The Clinic offers its patients artificial tooth roots, which aid in the anchoring of embedded or removable dental prostheses. The implant is inserted in the jawbone by specialists with advanced training. Usually dental implants are made from titanium. As one of the first centres in the world the Klinik Professor Sailer offers dental implants made from ceramics (zirconium dioxyde) which show advantages over titanium fixtures. After that an individually prepared crown is placed on it. It may be a matter of the replacement of a single tooth, a partial denture or a full denture for a completely edentulous (toothless) jaw. The dental prosthesis is designed to be as close as possible to nature’s model and demonstrates positive long-term results exclusively.

Orthognathic procedures

The repositioning of upper and lower jaws for functional and aesthetic correction of growth disturbances, such as: retroposition of the lower jaw (small chin) and upper jaw, protrusion of the lower jaw as well as misalignment of the front teeth (mandibulare prognathia).

Bleaching

Conservative but effective method for whitening teeth with bleaching agents, which are supplied in a soft synthetic brace. Performance of several treatments at home (home bleaching) or with the bright smile laser method in one session at the clinic (office bleaching).

Veneers

Porcelain shells that are bonded to existing teeth for aesthetic form, colour and occlusal correction. Advantage of this technique: healthy teeth must not be ground down circularly, and the result comes across as very natural and aesthetically perfect. Dental treatment under general anaesthesia

This is a specialty of the Dental Department of the Klinik Professor Sailer. Complex, difficult dental treatments or very anxious patients can sometimes be treated better under general anaesthesia or in a deep sleep (analgesia).
