Nose operations require great technical skill
More than any other forms of cosmetic maxillofacial surgery, nose operations require a technically competent and skilful surgeon with many years of experience, who is able to visualise the result in advance.
The “nose for everyone” doesn’t exist
Professor Sailer, who achieved world fame in the field of complex facial deformity surgery, has successfully performed more than a thousand nose operations. The great art of rhinoplasty is to achieve what the patient desires, and not what the surgeon desires. Many cosmetic surgeons try to model the “same nose” for all their patients. A good surgeon, however, listens to his patients and tries to give them what they want, as long as this is in the realm of the possible and responsibly feasible.
Preparations and first consultation appointment
Professor Sailer takes both a surgical and artistic approach to his nose operations. In the first consultation interview, he answers your questions, and discusses expectations and possible results. Following this, a thorough clinical examination of your nose is performed in order to determine together which changes are desired and which are possible.
A nose operation must be planned on an individual basis
In order to ensure comprehensive operation planning, the nose is photographed from different perspectives. Additionally, a cephalogram, a true-to-scale profile X-ray taken from the side, is generated. This is the only way the result can be pre- and postoperatively assessed. The profile X-ray is a great help in surgical planning as it represents the nasal and facial structures at a true-to-scale perspective. In case of nasal obstruction and septal deviation, a CT scan of the nose and paranasal sinuses should always be performed as well. Often a rhinomanometry (measurement procedure to determine air resistance through the nose) is also necessary.
Nose corrections require a holistic approach
The shape and size of a nose is also dependent on the proportions of the rest of the face, and even the rest of the body. A very large person should therefore not have a nose which is too small, and vice versa. The nose, lip and chin make up an aesthetic unity. An undersized chin or small lower jaw causes the nose to look too big. In all cases, nose surgery demands exact and thorough planning. Depending on the level of difficulty, nose surgery is performed via minimal invasion, or openly, via surgical access in the region of the nose bridge.
Patientreport from February 2018
I had my operation with Professor Sailer in October 2017. I learnt about the clinic several years ago. However, the procedure was not yet possible for me at that time.
After having an operation carried out on my lower jaw in Germany, which did not solve my actual problem, I decided that I would only have a second procedure carried out by a specialist. After a change of job, my dream once again seemed to be within reach and I arranged a consulting appointment. At the appointment I met Dr. Sailer and Professor Sailer and already on the flight back home I was sure that I would have the procedure carried out there. Following a second appointment, at which everything was precisely discussed and planned, I was lucky enough to be assigned an operation date a few weeks later.
It was a major procedure, but believe it or not, I was never in pain for a single moment. Three months have gone by now and everything has healed well and the swelling has subsided. After years of being dissatisfied, my new appearance is a source of delight every day. Having the procedure carried out was one of the best decisions of my life and I can wholeheartedly recommend the professor, his clinic and the whole team. Rest assured you are in good hands there, both in terms of care and technical competence.

Dear reader and companion in misfortune
My story begins with the fact that I have felt unattractive for years since the days of being a teenager. Due to my excessively large nose and my undefined facial features, I had already expressed the desire back then to get rid of my imperfections by means of surgery. I was told that my nose was too big, my face too round. These words not only hurt me but shaped me as a person. The degree of suffering I endured was so great that I felt very uncomfortable as soon as someone looked at me from the side. I had the urge to pose differently in photos in an effort to at least hide my imperfections in photos by means of light, shadow and make-up. I placed a great deal of emphasis on aesthetics since I was very small and to see how my little nose as a child was transformed into a dominant nose although my facial contours were not altered at the same time was a very disappointing process. I was also plagued by severe jaw pain and headaches after wearing braces. For years, I suffered from unexplained migraines, and my jaw regularly made a cracking sound due to unexplained tension, despite all the doctors' visits.
In 2013, as a young girl, I finally came to the realisation of something I already knew deep down. I sat with my mother in front of the TV and came across a documentary by chance that dealt with the beauty formula for a human face in a profound new way. This was the first time I had laid eyes on Professor Sailer, who, from that moment, was destined to change my life forever. Professor Sailer narrated in a professional and very impressive manner what accounts for an aesthetic face. This also enabled me to delve deeper and build more confidence within myself and I knew my dream was now to allow myself to be operated by no other person than Professor Sailer. For years, I had been waiting and saving for this day with full anticipation. My beloved mother lent me her support and obtained a loan to make my lifetime dream come true. In 2017 the day had come. After a fantastic consultation with Dr Sailer and the delightful team, I began the planning with her husband, Professor Sailer. I was excited and impressed by the innovative technique and the surgical method through the oral cavity, resulting in no visible scars. I decided on a cheekbone modelling, a chin correction and a nose operation. Without my having to mention it, Professor Sailer immediately noticed that the severe pain in my jaw joint had to be excruciating. He was the first doctor who noticed that my jaw muscles had been completely tense due to the years of teeth grinding and clenching, and that my face appeared so wide as a result. I received a splint and injections into my jaw. My pain and tension disappeared. It is so beautiful to be healthy and pain-free. On 16 August 2017, I had surgery. My mother was worried to bits and cried, but I assured her that I was in very good hands. The team looked after us at every turn and took away all our fears. Anaesthesia was performed by Dr Falke and was very pleasant. I can still remember very well how Professor Sailer held my hand until I fell asleep. I will never forget this gesture. I felt secure and could hardly wait for the team to get started. After the operation, Jelena was with me. Just talking to her did me so much good. I had no pain after the operation and not even bruises. The only thing I did experience was strong swelling, which significantly diminished within a week thanks to very good medication. The more time passed, the more my face gained contours and definition. Professor Sailer was always approachable to answer any questions, as well as the team. It is great to put yourself into responsible and supervised hands. I am so happy with the development and unique concept of my face by Professor Sailer and Dr Sailer. The surgery has created the most wonderfully ‘natural’, aesthetically-pleasing look possible, which was very important to me. I feel like I have been born again and more attractive than ever before. I attract many compliments and there is nothing better than feeling well in your own skin.
I am eternally grateful to Dr and Professor Sailer for their efforts, as well as to the most cordial team, including... Jelena, Ms Nasso, Ms Cakolli, as well as Ms Oppenberger and Ms Horlacher. They have changed my life. I never had any doubts about doing anything wrong, because I had the honour of being in the hands of the best doctors. I am grateful for having met such deeply inspiring personalities. They have all become like a second family to me. I felt completely understood from the beginning, as Dr Sailer and Professor Sailer are very empathic and compassionate people and have a fantastic understanding of aesthetics, the likes of which I have never seen before in anyone. Another thing of which I am certain is the untiring willingness to help others displayed by Dr and Professor Seiler. Thank you very much indeed. I hope you will remain healthy and happy forever, so that you can transform people who are unhappy with themselves into the happiest people alive.
With love and my deepest respect

Many, many thanks for my super nose :)
I found out about Klinik Professor Sailer through an acquaintance, on whom he had operated several times very successfully.
10 years ago a doctor unsuccessfully operated on my nose, which had never functioned properly.
Subsequently I sought consultation from at least 7 different doctors from Zurich to Geneva and nobody was able to operate, they all said it would go wrong.
I had nearly given up hope, but then I had a car accident and had to undergo an operation on my nose. When the hospital was no longer in a position to assist me any further, I turned to Prof. Sailer and he was able to help.
On 18/02/2016 I was operated, the nose construction proving to be extremely successful.
It is 1 year ago today since the operation and I can breathe perfectly through my nose. It is also aesthetically beautiful, without any bumps or dents.
I can highly recommend it to everyone. From now on I will only go to Klinik Professor Sailer.
The receptionists and the entire team are always friendly and helpful :)
Thank you so much and the very best wishes

I was unhappy with I looked from the side, my nose was to big with a hump and I had a week chin.
I discussed with my husband that I want to improve my facial appearance and believe me, my husband is not a big fan of plastic surgery and the most important for him was that I look still natural and keep my natural beauty.
He told me that he's agree with the surgery but only on the condition that we choose the best possible plastic surgeon.
After an extensive research I decided to make an appointment with Prof. Sailer. I was very impressed what I read about Prof. Sailer. My husband did his own research and realized that Prof. Sailer is one of the world’s most experienced expert in the field of maxillofacial surgery and he agreed that we should meet him.
The first visit at Sailerclinic was an amazing experience. If you plan a visit with Prof. Sailer please reserve several !!hours!! Where in this busy world doctors take still time for theyr patients??? At Sailerclinic they are really focussed in the patients needs and also one of the best Cappuccino in town awaits you! Our first meeting took more than 2 hours! Prof. Sailer, Dr. Sailer and the whole team are extraordinary personalities. Prof. Sailer presented me the ideal solution to improve the appearance of my face. I also loved the idea very much to put my chin forward by using my own bown instead of an implant.
I thought that I am the patient but when we first met Prof. Sailer he also found out the reason of my husbands sleep apnea and presented him the first suitable solution to solve this problem after all the years my husband fighted with this problem. He saw many doctors - unsuccessful.
Incredible how Prof. Sailer and Dr. Sailer care for theyr patients.
Before surgery I had several meetings at Sailerclinic and they always had an open ear for all my needs and questions.
I finally went into surgery full of confidence and trust and as expected, Prof. Sailer did not disappoint me - I am more than happy with my new face!!! I have an amazing sweet shaped nose who looks beautiful and natural and my chin was placed forward exactly the right amount and he shaped it pointier, exactly like I desired it. My face is now well shaped and balanced and I also earned a new self esteem - finally my face looks so pretty and the way I desired It all my life! I am so thankful to Prof. Sailer and I warmly recommend him!
Here you are in save and best hands and best results are guaranteed.
And the best - my husband is in love again with me thanks to my new sweet face!!! :)
Also the care after surgery was more than anyone could expect. You don't feel like in a hospital - you feel more like in a 5 star hotel :) and that helps you to forget about the discomfort after surgery!
Prof. Sailer & Dr. Sailer are there 24 hours / 7 days for theyr patients.
Nose operation report April 2016
Patient from Zuerich, Switzerland
I had this nose. A nose I didn’t like, although I had once had no problem with it. Somehow this chunky and crude part no longer seemed to match the rest of my otherwise delicate face.
So I decided to change it and said to myself, the sooner I do it the longer I can enjoy the result. My first move was to consult an ear, nose and threat doctor. He took a current photo of me and sent me an edited picture the same evening. The picture was meant to show what kind of correction I could expect. The correction shown was not the one I had hoped for. I continued my search. As is typical for my generation, I searched in Google for a facial surgeon in Zurich. Finally I came across the Professor Sailer Clinic. I found the pictures on the homepage very appealing and so agreed to a non-binding initial meeting with Ms Sailer. Ms Sailer was great. She analysed my whole face, showed me numerous before and after pictures and spoke to me in detail about Prof. Sailer’s expertise. As I was heading for the door to leave I made a firm resolution: I’d like to have my correction done here. The very next day, we agreed a follow-up meeting during which we also took X-ray images.
My big day soon arrived: The operation. It lasted four hours. When I woke up from my general anaesthetic I felt fine. Although my face was extremely swollen, I was otherwise free of nausea and did not have any pain. I gave myself 10 days rest. I would advise anyone else to do the same in this situation. I needed the 10 days. Afterwards you can look forward to a great result. When I returned to the office, I was showered with compliments. Even staff members who I had not told about it noticed the change. Many could not say exactly what was different. It takes a little patience until the swelling has gone. But the result is certainly worth it. I wholeheartedly recommend the Professor Sailer Clinic. The staff at the Professor Sailer Clinic are simply fantastic and really take time for you. They always discuss the face as a whole and you’re treated as a person, not merely a statistic. Professor Sailer has an extremely good eye for aesthetics and makes consultations truly special thanks to his humour and charm. Ms Sailer and Ms Tejic are so welcoming with their helpful and positive manner. After walking into the clinic you feel like you’re part of a family.
It’s small changes that make us look great. It’s also little things that make the difference between a normal clinic and the Professor Sailer Clinic. Don’t be surprised if everyone calls you by your name, right from the start.
Nose operation longtime result, April 2016
Mrs. Jayne Cloutier, Hawaii
When I was a child of 7 years I broke my nose. I didn't get any treatment until I reached the age of 23. I couldn't breath through my nose, and got it corrected in a clinic. Twelve years later again I couldn't breath anymore through my nose.
Then I met Dr. Prof. Sailer.
He was the blessing of my life ! He took the time to take exams, research my first surgery in the other clinic, and checked my nose carefully. He asked me for older photos of mine before I broke my nose. And Dr. Prof. Sailer helped me with his detailed report and got my insurance to pay for the nose surgery. He gave me exactly the perfect nose according to my old photos, how my nose would have been if I hadn't had broken it at the age of seven. My nose is great and looks absolutely perfect.
Afterwards he saw that I also had a major issue with my upper jaw. I have lost all my teeth at the age of nineteen and got dentures. Since then I always was shy of showing a smile. Thank God to Dr. Prof. Sailer, who operated and saved my upper jaw bone with implants holding the bone together and holding a beautiful row of artificial teeth. He gave me my Smile back, and gave me more joy I ever could have imagined.
I am one lucky woman with a big smile on my face every day of my life thanks to the incredible dedication of Dr. Prof. Sailer.
The nose correction as well as the upper jaw implants are still looking great and feeling great after almost thirteen years.
Dr. Prof. Sailer is a genius in what he does. He has patience, he listens, explains to you every step in "normal" language, he helps you in every way he can, he emphasizes and brings out your natural Beauty, he is very professional, respectful, and carrying for your wellbeing. He is awesome, and I am so happy I had the privilege to meet him, and to get help from him. He changed my life for the better.
Happy Greetings from Hawaii,

The experience in Professor Sailer's clinic was exceptional in every way. From the first telephone call with a staff member to the operation, I was struck by the highest level of excellence. Everything was clear, precise, and permeated by a genuine care. It would be enough if everything would be operationally perfect; but Prof. Sailer and his team go beyond that. Here, one can observe and be at the hands of caring people who have the heart and philosophy to make a sterile procedure into an inspiring experience in life. My surgery was to correct an accident-caused crooked nose; the accident (a botched sinus surgery) had made me feel that I had lost my own face. Prof. Sailer restored it, making the nose look very natural despite significant work done on it. I am deeply grateful, not only for having my own face back, but for the example set by Professor Sailer and his team in the pursuit of excellence.
Many kind regards from Seattle! I am so happy with my nose, and think often of all of you!
