Facial
Remodelling
If you only think of medical stoicism when it comes to surgical procedures, you are missing out on an important part of facial surgery: here, medical precision meets artistic sensitivity and the aim of giving our patients facial harmony that allows them to look in the mirror with pleasure.
Facial Surgery and Cosmetic Procedures in Zurich
In the field of facial surgery in Zurich, the SailerClinic is recognised worldwide for facial operations and cosmetic surgery. Our aim is to bring your external appearance into line with your internal self-image. In doing so, we see every face as a unique work of art created by nature, which must be treated with the greatest of care and respect.
In facial surgery, we therefore place great emphasis on both restoring functionality and improving aesthetics. Facial remodelling includes, for example, the reconstruction of bone using lyophilised cartilage (e.g. the jaw ridge after tooth loss) and highly complex reconstructions in the facial area.
Facial Surgery Enables an Aesthetic Appearance
The harmony of a beautiful face is based on the perfect interplay of its bony structures. If accidents or developmental disorders disturb this natural balance, we can restore the original harmony through plastic-surgical facial operations.
Do you feel that your appearance is holding you back? Our experienced facial plastic surgeons in Zurich are here to help you find a way to achieve the look you want.
Narrow face
Long Face Syndrome not only affects aesthetics but also important functions such as breathing and jaw alignment. Targeted treatment can alleviate functional limitations and harmonize the external appearance, thereby improving quality of life and well-being.
Wide Face – Masseter Treatment
A masseter treatment can gently slim a wide face and address functional disorders of the chewing muscles. The procedure results in a harmonious appearance and sustainably enhances your well-being.
Feminisation – Facial Feminisation
Facial Feminization Surgery helps soften and feminize facial features to align the outer appearance with inner identity. This procedure can be a crucial step in gaining quality of life and authenticity.

Facelift
A treatment for facial asymmetry can help balance significant differences between the halves of the face. This creates a harmonious appearance that boosts your self-confidence and enhances your quality of life.
Cheekbone Augmentation
Cheekbone augmentation can add more contour and expression to your face. Through targeted aesthetic adjustments, harmonious proportions are created, resulting in a youthful and attractive look.
Jaw Angle Augmentation
Jaw angle augmentation can define and harmonize the facial shape by accentuating the contours in the lower facial area. Targeted procedures can reduce a double chin and jowls, resulting in a tighter and more aesthetically pleasing profile.
Gummy Smile Correction
A gummy smile correction can help balance the ratio of teeth to gums, making your smile appear more harmonious. With modern techniques, an aesthetic result is achieved that enhances your self-confidence and well-being.
Rotational Advancement
"Every person has their own unique beauty, which they can enhance at any time if needed."
The Foundation for Improved Appearance Is a Consultation
The first step towards your new appearance begins with a detailed personal consultation. We will listen to you carefully, understand your concerns and work with you to develop a tailor-made treatment that puts your well-being first.
After our consultation, you can take your time to consider whether facial surgery is right for you. If you decide to go ahead with facial surgery, we will work with you to determine the best treatment for you. We will provide you with comprehensive information about possible risks and assess the feasibility of your wishes. Of course, you are welcome to view before-and-after photos of facial surgery patients to get a better idea of what the results can be.
If your request cannot be fulfilled, you will, of course, be offered alternatives. It is important to us that you feel comfortable with your new appearance after the facial surgery. If you have decided to have facial surgery or cosmetic surgery, we will promptly coordinate a suitable treatment appointment. Although we are happy to provide you with initial information over the phone, this is no substitute for a personal consultation. The facial surgery costs depend on the type of procedure required.
The Facial Surgery
The aim of modern facial surgery is to create a harmonious facial profile by making changes to the skeleton. During facial surgery, all areas of the skull can be moved, enlarged, modelled or reduced to varying degrees in order to achieve the desired result.
The modified or repositioned skull bones are fixed in place with titanium plates and titanium screws. After a healing period of about six weeks, the new structure is fully stabilised. The operation is performed through the oral cavity, so there is no risk of facial scarring.
The entire surgical procedure is planned in detail, using a variety of simulation techniques. Our patients are thoroughly informed about each individual step, which is why a consultation is essential.
Treatment and Procedures
Thanks to advanced methods and gentle anaesthesia techniques, most types of facial surgery can now be performed on an outpatient basis. Only more extensive operations require a short hospital stay of two to three days.
Upper Jaw Advancement
If the upper jaw is advanced, it is pushed forward and, if necessary, also swivelled to correct an open bite or an unfavourable midface retraction, for example. Vertical adjustments are also possible: if you have a pronounced ‘gummy smile’ – where too much of the gums is visible – we can raise the upper jaw. Conversely, if too little of the teeth is visible, an aesthetically pleasing result can be achieved by lowering the upper jaw.
As a rule, the lower jaw is adjusted during this facial surgery to create a harmonious profile. Any existing misalignment of the teeth can also be corrected during this procedure. By moving the upper jaw forward, a flat midface is filled out and a straight profile is modelled.
Lower Jaw Advancement or Retraction
In facial surgery, the lower jaw can be lengthened, shortened and pivoted and can be moved either individually or together with the upper jaw. This results in a straight profile and often also in what is known as an ‘internal facelift’, in which the soft tissues in the lower face and neck area are tightened at the same time.
Jawline Surgery – Contouring the Jaw Angle and Lower Jawline
This treatment involves narrowing or widening the jawline, i.e. the lower jaw edge. The result can be accentuated even more when combined with soft tissue correction in the neck area.
Widening or Narrowing the Cheekbones
We can create the particularly attractive ‘prominent cheekbones’ by moving the zygomatic arch. This facial surgery also makes it possible to model a face that is too wide in order to narrow it.
Facial Rotation
In the case of pronounced asymmetries or more complex profile disorders, facial rotation is used. In this facial operation, the techniques already mentioned are combined to create a harmonious overall appearance.
Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty plays a key role in facial modelling. The nose, the central element of a face, can be adapted to the newly created face or to existing facial structures using modern surgical techniques. This may be necessary, for example, after a jaw position correction, as the face will now have a new profile.
Duration of Treatment and Rehabilitation
As a rule, facial surgery that achieves a correction of the profile is performed under general anaesthesia. A correction of the jaw or cheekbones takes between one and five hours, as does a facial rotation. In contrast, minor procedures such as jawline surgery or a correction of the nose and chin are usually performed on an outpatient basis.
Jaw corrections to reposition the jaw normally require a stay of around three days at the clinic and result in an inability to work for up to three weeks. The stitches are removed after ten days at the latest, and no later than 24 days.
