Eyelid Lift
Over time, the eyes begin to appear smaller as the eyebrow presses down on the upper eyelid. Increased protrusion of fat tissue in the lower eyelid area leads to the formation of eye bags. This makes the face appear tired and strained.
For this reason, eyelid tightening (blepharoplasty) is one of the most common cosmetic surgeries. We have developed new methods to give the entire eye area a naturally radiant expression. After eyelid correction, your appearance will be more attractive and refreshed, and it will not be noticeable that a procedure has been performed.
Fresher Appearance Through Blepharoplasty
The eye area gives the face its radiance. The facial expression is largely defined by the eyes and eyelids. Sagging eyelids can create the impression of sadness or tiredness. When the eyelids begin to droop, the eyes also appear smaller.
Through eyelid correction or blepharoplasty, you can achieve a fresher and younger facial expression. Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat tissue from the eyelids. The goal is to rejuvenate the eye area, eliminate droopy eyelids, and create a fresher, more awake appearance.
In our eyelid lift in Zurich, a modern technique is used that provides a natural, long-lasting effect without visible scars. The recovery time after the procedure is also very short, and you will quickly achieve a radiant facial expression.
For some patients, it may be necessary to adjust the position of the eyebrows during the procedure to optimize the result. During a personal consultation, you will receive all the information about blepharoplasty and the costs of the eyelid correction. During the consultation, we will also show you before-and-after examples of eyelid corrections so you can see what to expect.

The most frequently asked questions
How long does an eyelid lift take?
An eyelid lift lasts between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the extent of the procedure, and is performed on an outpatient basis.
How long is the recovery time after an eyelid lift?
The stitches are removed after about seven to ten days, and bruising and swelling typically subside within a few days. Physical exertion and sports can be resumed after two weeks.
Are there visible scars after an eyelid lift?
In upper eyelid surgery, the incision is made in the eyelid crease, making the scar nearly invisible. In lower eyelid surgery, the access is through a transconjunctival incision, which leaves no externally visible scars.
Can an eyelid lift be combined with other procedures?
Yes, an eyelid lift can be combined with a brow lift if needed, to lift drooping eyebrows and rejuvenate the entire eye area.
What should be considered before and after an eyelid lift?
Before the treatment, all relevant pre-existing conditions and blood-thinning medications should be mentioned during the consultation. After the procedure, physical exertion, makeup application, and driving should be avoided for a while.
Is an eyelid lift painful?
The treatment is usually performed under local anesthesia, making it painless. Mild pain after the procedure can be easily managed with painkillers.
Harmonious rejuvenation of the eye area
The traditional lifting method (upper eyelid correction), in which excess skin and fat tissue are removed, has the significant disadvantage of making the eye appear smaller. This method further shortens the distance between the eyebrow and the upper eyelid, often resulting in an expression of deeply set, hollow, and shadowed eyes.
The "open gaze" thanks to the innovative brow lift surgical method
For this reason, SailerClinic developed a new method to give the entire eye area a naturally radiant expression. A small incision is made just behind the hairline on the forehead, which later leaves no visible scars. The sagging eyebrow is slightly lifted, which also eliminates the lateral “crow’s feet.”
At the same time, any remaining excess skin on the upper eyelid can be removed, ideally without reducing fat. However, if too much tissue is removed, the eye area may appear unnatural. The goal of the procedure is to “open” the eye, making it appear larger and friendlier. The entire eye area will then look rejuvenated and harmonious.

Upper and Lower Eyelid Surgery for a Fresher Appearance
Not only older individuals with sagging skin tissue opt for a correction of the lower eyelids or under-eye bags. Younger people also choose this option if they are dissatisfied with their appearance.
The lower eyelid correction is performed through a small precision incision in the inner, non-visible mucous membrane area in the lower eyelid fold (transconjunctival approach), which provides direct access to the under-eye bags. This routine procedure is safe for the eye and leaves no visible scars. In contrast, the traditional method with external incisions can lead to turned-out eyelids (ectropion).
If there is significant excess skin in the eyelid area, an upper eyelid surgery can be performed simultaneously. This correction is a simple procedure that can also be done under local anesthesia. The incision is made in the eyelid crease, so the fresh scar is not visible when the eye is open and becomes nearly invisible after healing.
Detailed Analysis Before Surgical Eyelid Lift
A thorough analysis is extremely important before any surgical correction. This is because eyelid correction is not the right solution for every patient seeking a fresher appearance in the eye area. Often, lifting the eyebrows (brow lift) is sufficient to achieve a naturally younger look.
The Treatment Process
During a personal consultation, your starting situation will be analyzed, and the options for eyelid lifting will be discussed together. Your requirements and wishes will of course be taken into account. During this consultation, the individual steps of the blepharoplasty will be explained in detail, including the organizational process.
The Treatment Day for Eyelid Lift
On the treatment day, the procedure will be discussed once again, and any questions that may have arisen will be answered. Typically, the eyelid lift is performed with local anesthesia. To make the treatment as comfortable as possible for you, a sedative tablet can be taken. If desired, the procedure can also be performed under twilight sedation.
Depending on the type and extent of the eyelid lift, it takes between 30 and 90 minutes. The eyelid correction can, if necessary, be combined with a brow lift, as the eyebrows also sag during the aging process.
Aftercare
Although the eyelid lift is considered a minor procedure, certain precautions should be taken: To avoid potential bleeding, a period of rest is recommended afterward. For this reason, it is necessary to wait a while before you go home.
Additionally, it is advisable not to drive yourself after blepharoplasty and to arrange for someone to pick you up. The ability to react may be reduced due to the outpatient procedure. If mild pain occurs, it can be easily treated with painkillers.
Aftercare: Stitches, Scars, and Healing
Two days after the procedure, the dressings are usually removed, while the stitches are taken out after about seven to ten days. Both steps are painless. To ensure proper healing of the scars, they should be kept dry and clean and treated with a special ointment. In the first few days after blepharoplasty, mild bruising and swelling are normal and can be alleviated with cooling compresses. These symptoms usually subside within a few days.
The Time Afterward
For two weeks after the eyelid lift, physical exertion and sports should be avoided. Additionally, makeup should be refrained from during this time. Regular cooling of the eyes will also speed up the healing process. If you work in an office, you can return to work three days after the procedure.
