Facelift

A facelift can reduce noticeable signs of time and aging using modern surgical techniques. The result is much more natural than it was a few years ago, as surgery continues to evolve. Through volume replacement and proper alignment of the facelift, a natural appearance is created, rather than simply tightening the skin. Aesthetically pleasing and natural results are the primary goal.

The aging process of the facial skin

As we age, the skin’s elasticity decreases, and the underlying muscles begin to sag. Sun exposure becomes more visible, and the face loses its contours. Measures such as fillers and peels have little effect on advanced skin aging. This aging process affects both women and men equally. With “Reverse Facelifting,” our clinic has developed a revolutionary method for rejuvenating an aging face.

The pinnacle of plastic surgery: A naturally appearing, long-lasting facelift result without a tight look and without visible scars.

In traditional facelifts (rhytidectomy), the focus is primarily on the skin. The result is often a tightened appearance. Simply pulling the skin backward and upward is not a good long-term solution for facial rejuvenation, as the effect is short-lived and the natural look is lost.

The treatment usually takes 3 to 5 hours. An overnight hospital stay is required.

After 2 weeks, you can return to your usual routine. Swelling and bruising subside in the first few days. The thread lifting takes place after one week, accompanied by lymphatic drainage.

Thanks to the modern Reverse Facelifting method, externally visible scars are rare. If scarring occurs, they are typically very discreet and heal well.

In Reverse Facelifting, not only the skin and tissue are tightened, but the facial structure is also taken into account. This ensures a long-lasting, natural-looking result without a tight appearance.

The risks are minimal. Possible complications such as swelling or bruising usually heal without consequences. The risk of circulatory disorders can be reduced by refraining from smoking before and after the surgery.

Before the surgery, a detailed analysis of the facial morphology is conducted using 3D scans and X-rays. A simulation will show you the potential postoperative result. Your aesthetic desires are carefully discussed and taken into account.

Reverse Facelifting, the facelift for a significant enhancement of attractiveness

In the newly developed Sailer method, not only the skin and underlying tissue layers are tightened, but the entire facial structure is taken into account. This unique surgical technique completely changed the approach to rejuvenating an aging face, as it allows for a long-lasting, natural-looking result without externally visible scars. The technique of repositioning the tissue and volume restoration requires a high level of skill and a deep understanding of facial structures and bone structure.

Professor Sailer, a specialist in craniofacial surgery and founder of SailerClinic, was the first to apply this method due to his exceptional understanding of facial morphology and its proportions for facelifts. When the deep structures of the face are repositioned into the natural position of the anteface, a facelift brings longer-lasting rejuvenation effects and creates a significant enhancement in attractiveness.

Before-and-after pictures

Planning of the facelift

In an initial consultation with our highly trained clinic team, your individual aesthetic desires will be discussed, and the procedures and results of various surgical methods will be explained. You will have the opportunity to view before-and-after photos of facelifts from former patients and compare them with your own ideas. It is especially important that you communicate your aesthetic wishes as precisely as possible.

Before the Reverse Facelift, a detailed overall and facial planning is carried out. We analyze the face and facial structures using scale-accurate X-rays and 3D face scans, and discuss your wishes and their feasibility.

Based on lateral X-rays (cephalogram) and 3D images of the face and bones, our team simulates the facelift surgery process. This simulation provides you with a more accurate insight into the procedure and gives you an idea of what the postoperative appearance may look like.

The facelift surgery is painless! The facelift procedure is performed under general anesthesia, making it completely pain-free. After about 3–4 days in the hospital, you can move to a nearby hotel for approximately 10-14 days, where you will continue to receive medical care once a day.

What are the risks of a surgical facelift?

Generally, every surgical procedure carries some risk. However, the risks of a facelift are considered low and extremely rare. During a personal consultation, the risks or potential complications will be addressed.

Common complications and risks of a facelift that typically heal without further consequences include swelling or bruising. To reduce the risk of circulatory disorders, it is advisable to reduce or completely stop smoking for two weeks before and after the facelift surgery. Facelift scars on the face are rare and, if they do occur, are usually very discreet. However, even with a very careful approach, scarring can sometimes happen due to the varying healing processes among different patients.

Injury to nerves and blood vessels can be avoided. (However, this cannot be completely excluded in cases of certain anatomical variations or previous surgeries.) If the facelift also includes eyelid correction, which is usually the case, temporary dryness of the eyes may occur. This can, however, be easily managed with the use of a special eye ointment or appropriate drops.
