Feminisation – Facial Feminisation
Facial feminisation surgery gives many of our patients a greater quality of life. This transformative technology enables people whose physical appearance does not match their inner gender identity to fully express their authentic personality.
Facial feminisation surgery is a type of transgender surgery that involves a variety of surgical and non-surgical procedures designed to soften and feminise facial features, and to modify them entirely according to the wishes of our patients.
The Face as a Reflection of Emotion
The human face is a non-verbal means of communication and embodies the essence of our identity. Various factors in the face make the person behind it appear typically male or female. In addition, there is the very individual perception of beauty, which significantly influences one’s self-confidence. Minimally invasive and surgical adjustment of the facial phenotype to the patient’s gender is referred to as Facial Feminization or Facial Masculinization Surgery.
Typical facial areas treated in such an operation are usually the forehead (forehead contouring, shaping, reduction, hairline), the eyebrow area (men and women have different eyebrow curves) and the nose. Furthermore, the jaw contours, or rather the facial profile and chin, the lips (volume, width, colour) and the cheek region (prominence, width, curve) can be changed. The Adam’s apple or the neck region and the size of the ears are also very important.
With the help of many different methods, these areas can be dramatically altered by minor or major surgical procedures. A detailed and careful planning phase is necessary to achieve a good, natural result. In consultation sessions and through examinations, we can create an individual treatment plan for each patient to achieve harmony between inner feelings and outer appearance in the facial area.
In order to provide you with the best possible care, we have an experienced team in addition to the surgical team that can advise you on hair, cosmetics and appearance. We look forward to meeting you and advising you.

The most frequently asked questions
What is Facial Feminization Surgery?
Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS) is a combination of surgical and non-surgical procedures aimed at feminizing male facial features. It involves adjusting the forehead, eyebrows, nose, jaw, chin, cheeks, and other facial characteristics to create a softer and more feminine appearance.
Which areas of the face can be altered during facial feminization surgery?
Typical treatment areas include the forehead (hairline, contour), eyebrow region, nose, chin, jawline, cheekbones, lips (volume and shape), as well as the Adam’s apple and neck area.
How long does recovery take after facial feminization surgery?
Most patients can resume their daily activities after 1–2 weeks. Swelling and bruising subside within a few weeks, while the final result is often visible only after a few months.
Can facial feminization be performed without surgery?
Yes, there are minimally invasive methods such as thread lifting or injections with hyaluronic acid fillers and Botox that allow for gentle transformations. These procedures are particularly suitable for smaller adjustments or as a complement to surgical interventions.
What psychological support is recommended?
Facial feminization can have significant emotional impacts, especially if it is part of gender transition. Psychological support can help ease the transition and promote well-being during and after the treatment.
When are the results of facial feminization visible?
The first results are visible after a few weeks once the swelling subsides. The final result is often only visible after several months, as healing and the adjustment of facial features take time.
Individual Planning and Analysis
Every face is unique, which is why feminisation begins with a precise analysis of your facial features. In a preliminary examination, we analyse skin texture, fat distribution and bone structure and use this to create a treatment plan to adapt the feminisation of men to women individually to your wishes and goals.
The art of transgender surgery requires a profound understanding of gender-specific facial structures. For example, during feminisation for men, the jawline and nose are changed, the cheekbones emphasised and the eyebrows raised.
Proportions and Facial Harmony Are Central to Transgender Surgery
The purpose of feminisation is not to create a new face, but to modify existing facial features so that a harmonious overall impression is created.
Our treatment concept for feminisation integrates both surgical and non-invasive technologies and, thanks to modern thread lift systems and precise injection techniques, enables gentle transformations without the need for general anaesthesia.

Psychological Support During Feminization
The psychological dimension of feminisation is given special attention in our overall concept. Male-to-female feminisation can have a noticeable effect on one’s own identity and well-being, which is why we recommend psychological support during the treatment. Particularly in the case of feminisation in old age, the step into a new life is associated with enormous changes that can be facilitated by psychological support.
Basics of Facial Feminization
The male facial anatomy is characterised by larger head dimensions, more angular facial features, a higher hairline and a broader forehead. Due to these differences to the female anatomy, feminisation from man to woman cannot be standardised, but always requires a highly individualised interplay of adjustments. A comprehensive consultation in which we discuss your individual wishes and goals is therefore essential.
Facial feminisation often requires several coordinated procedures that modify both soft tissue and bony structures. The more extensive the feminisation, the more surgical procedures are necessary to achieve the desired result.
When Will the Results of Feminisation Be Visible?
The results of transgender surgery are not immediately visible. Depending on the type of procedure, it may take several days and weeks for bruising and swelling to heal. Due to the multiple procedures involved, the final result is often only visible after months.
Throughout the entire process, our patients benefit from personalised pain management, aftercare instructions and continuous medical care, so that we can make the time after the procedure as pleasant as possible for you.
