Jaw line enhancement

The jaw line lies at the point of transition between the lower jaw to the neck region. If this contour is poorly formed, it can be enhanced through operation. With a well defined jaw line, the lower jaw will stand out from the neck, a feature that is very desirable in both men and women. Take another look at the special features of faces in advertisements and among actors; they all have a clearly defined transition from the lower jaw to the neck (jaw line).

Particularly in the case of patients with a small, receding chin, jaw line enhancement is done together with a chin correction, since in most of these patients a well defined jaw-neck contour is usually absent.

Treatment

The treatment is administered under general anaesthesia, and the intervention is done through the oral cavity; no visible scars are left behind. The jaw line is enhanced or emphasised by an implant that is fastened to the lower jaw. The treatment can be done as an out-patient procedure, and the patient can leave the clinic on the same day. After intervention, there could be slight swelling. The result is permanent.
